Tomamu lies near Sahoro and is situated 150km east of Sapporo close to the Hidaka National Park. Tomamu is the most lavish of the Hokkaido resorts and is marketed towards the affluent skier. The resort has spared no expense and the facilities on and off mountain are first class. The ski area is double the size of Sahoro and offers a good variety of terrain, the recently opened up expert courses and off-piste skiiing are certainly a bonus for the advanced skier and snowboarder. Alpine alternatives include, snowmobiling, backcountry tours, cross country skiing, para-skiing, dogsledding, hot air balooning and visiting the ice dome village.

Tomamu is right at the middle of Hokkaido. It locates in the center of 3 major airports, Sapporo-Chitose, Tokachi-Obihiro, and Asahikawa.

Environment

Alpha Resort Tomamu is an alpine resort surrounded by many mountains, such as the 1239 meters high Mt. Tomamu.
In the depths of winter, Tomamu could freeze down to -20℃. Therefore, the summer times are remarkably pleasant.Our average outside temperature is about 20 celsius in summer.
